In the Shoes of an International Student

Another topic that is important to understand are the emotions CT Mirror tells us comments regarding foreign students showing up for school and it is shocking when reading it. One comment stated, “My first day of school was sad because I didn’t know where the classes were or the bathroom. I didn’t know how to ask my teachers to use the bathroom or go drink some water because I didn’t know English.” This is a lot different than what most students go through in a day and it is sad that there are not enough people to give them advice or the help that they need. Another quote was, “I didn’t feel like I fit in.” Most students, especially at UNL which is a popular spot for international students will feel like this and it is in our best interests to learn a different language when we are younger because there will be times that you can help others in a situation like this.
